Meet Benz.
Benz is 1yr old colt and he is a cheeky little boy…full of life, spirit and hijinx. Benz has come to the Farm for a few months to give his owner a chance to work with his big brother and to let Benz be the youngster that he is, to play, run and enjoy the wind is his mane.
We would love for you to come and see Benz, Banjo the Boer Goat, Mildred the Merino or the twins, Velvet and Ned… and let’s not forget the gorgeous chickens,Mabel, Betty, Daisy, and Maynard The Rooster and the new chicks, Midnight and Louie.
With a gorgeous collection of Barnyard animals, all that is missing is you… to come feed, pat and enjoy their company. So what are you waiting for?

We received a phone call last night asking us if we would like an orphaned little lamb, that had somehow made it’s way to Stroud and was in need of a new home. It’s neck had to be saved from the cutting block, so to speak. We said yes and went and met with the tiniest, little lamb I had ever seen.. I think he must be no older than 10 days and he is just so small, cute and he was scared.. We brought him straight home and put him in with our gorgeous mother sheep, Mildred.. he bleeted a few times and today, he has been enjoying some of Mildred’s milk and the sunshine.. and playing with Ned and Banjo. As yet, he is nameless but that shall be rectified in a day or two..
Our eldest boy has taken to him and keeps going outside to check on him, to make sure he’s okay…
Here he is… our newest addition to the farm.

So yesterday we got a phone call from a lovely couple, Bill & Alison, asking us if we would like a sheep and twin baby lambs for the Farm Stay.. we said YES, of course..
Please say hello to Mildred the Merino.. and her twin babies.. A little boy and a girl. We have named the girl Velvet.. and the boy is Ned. They are about 6 weeks old, very soft, fluffy, cuddly and oh so cute and when they start to run, hop and jump it is the CUTEST thing you have ever seen.
They are joining our ever expanding barnyard family and we are so pleased that they can call this place their forever home!
Bring the kids, come and meet the newest additions and spend some time getting to meet the rest of the Farm Stay Family.

Do you like losing yourself in an old book?
If like me you do and you live anywhere near Gloucester, or maybe you are just traveling through on your way to your favourite camp site and you forgot to pack your latest great adventure novel, help is at hand.
Gloucester Charities run the most delightful second hand book store, which can be found on the corner of Phillip Street and The Bucketts Way, and right across from the new Webb Bros Rural Store and the Caltex Service Station.
Run by volunteers like Jeff, this place is a treasure trove of great works, interesting articles, forgotten authors and history in all shapes and sizes.
You will also find a fantastic selection of tourist information for the surrounding areas and the old gold mine at Copeland.
If browsing through thousands of books whilst enjoying the local hospitality and tales are your idea of a good Sunday drive, then start heading to Gloucester and say hi to Jeff and the other volunteers that keep this well stocked hall so well organised.

Banjo is a Boer Goat rescued from the pound. We’re not sure what he did to deserve to be there, as he’s a friendly and tame fellow, and he’s fit and healthy.
And incredibly cute!
He spends his nights in the part of the chicken coop we’ve put Mabel and her chicks. And by the looks of it he’s loving it. We prepared a nice comfy bed of straw on a wooden pallet in one corner of the coop but he likes to snuggle up as close as he can get to Mabel.
During the day when he is in the coop and he’s lying down, the chicks like to jump on top of him. Mabel doesn’t mind, it’s like she has her own babysitter to look after the kids. We’re not sure how Banjo will feel when the chicks are big enough to put in the main adjoining coop with the other chickens. Maybe they’ll insist on staying with their big buddy.
When he’s out and about he’s got his own pen that was full of waist knee high grass and a few weeds. My goodness he loved the weeds.
Banjo loves getting a scratch on the top of his head between his horns.
